Simple Key Presses With Instant Results

1.) SCROLLING: Don’t move your mouse arrow over to the vertical scroll bar on the right side of the web page. Instead roll your mouse’s wheel, if your mouse has a wheel, to scroll down the page. If not, then just press the keyboard spacebar to scroll one page per press. 2.) FILLING IN FORMS: When you have to type your name, address, phone number etc. first click your mouse into the first box on the form and type in your name, then press the Tab Key, and the cursor will jump right to the next box. When you get to the box for your State, don’t click the dropdown arrow, instead type CCC if you want Connecticut, or WWW for Wyoming, or DDD for Delaware.  Get it? Cool huh? 3.) MAKE IT BIGGER: If words on a page are too small to read, or a picture is too small, to make them bigger, press the Control Key(Ctrl) and the Plus Key(+). Each press of the Plus Key increases the size.  Press the Minus Key(-) to decease the size.

4.) PUNCTUATION & CAPITALIZATION: When your typing on any brand of Smart Phone, just double-tap the Space Bar to add a ‘period, a space and to capitalize the first letter of the next sentence. While your smartphone is in your hand, try this.  To redial the last number you called, hold down the Call Button and the last number you called will appear in the dial box. 5.) HOW TO BYPASS SOMEONES VOICEMAIL GREETING: If they are a AT&T subscriber, press the # Pound Key  to bypass the greeting and instructions to immediately leave your voicemail message. If they are a Verizon subscriber, press the * Asterisk Key.

6.)  GOOGLE DICTIONARY: Google is the most awesome software platform ever. To lookup a word, type the ‘define’ followed by the work you want to know the meaning of. To know the exact time of day, no matter where in the world you are, type the word ‘time’. Same for the date. 7.) QUICK HIGHLIGHTING: Instead of LeftClick Dragging over a word to highlight the word, just Double- Left-Click the word. To highlight the entire sentence or paragraph, Triple-Left-Click within the sentence or paragraph. 8.) KEYNOTE AND POWERPOINT:  If you’re giving a slide presentation in Keynote or Powerpoint and you don’t want the audience to continue seeing the current slide for a moment, press the B Key and the screen will go temporarily black. 9.)  RIGHT CLICKING:  Many don’t know about the Right Click feature of a mouse or track pad.  99% of the time, we Left Click. The Right Mouse Button is often used to open contextual menus, which are pop-up menus that change depending where you click. Right Clicking often provides a ‘click-short-cut’, that might otherwise require two to three Left Clicks to accomplish what the Right Click can do in 1 click.  On a track pad, often tapping with two fingers provides the Right Click features. 10.)  COMMAND / CONTROL KEYS:  On a Mac, to find a particular word on a webpage or in a document, press the Command Key and the F Key together and a Find Box with open. In the Find Box, type the word you want to find, and press the Enter Key. Every instance of that word will be highlighted for you. On a Windows computer, substitute the Control Key (Ctrl) for the Command Key.  Command / Control and the N Key opens a new version of the active window.  The S Key saves the document.
